What's the best method to trim the outer sheath on the control able for the FAB alternate air/heater inlet door?

A thin zip disc mounted in your air die grinder. Plus a little care.

Pull back (out) inner cable and cut coiled sheathing with pliers or dykes. (Or cable cutter, saw, die grinder Dremel)

Dykes make a good cut of the coil without making a taper like a disc cut off would. Then just de bur the end.
