Default RV-6A Alternator source

I need to replace the alternator on my RV6A with Lycoming I/O 360. Anyone have a good source?

May be able to get a local mom-n-pop alternator shop to rebuild it. I got the alternator rebuilt for my o-320 for $30 when it failed. They will not work on certified stuff, but I have found them receptive when advised it is for an experimental.

Just say it is for a RV.

Most auto shops will trade your dead alternator as a core for a brand new one and give you a warranty to boot.

B&C Specialty also makes an excellent product.

Lots of opinions here, I think it depends on how much you value reliability vs $$$

Default NSA

You probably already bought what you need... but I just got a brand new NSA alternator. It was the only company I could find that still has them new (Other than Plane Power, who want $550). Autoparts Warehouse has them for $121.95 with free shipping. Part #: NSA ALT-5021.
Why pay $90 for a rebuilt unit when you can have a new one for $122 ?
This is a direct replacement for the Vans supplied Altinator prior to them switching to Plane Power.
