Infinity Grip Attach Issue

Made a bit of a goof tonight--need the board's advice on this one. I cut the slot for the wires at the top of the stick a bit too wide--just under .7". Infinity instructions call for .4" to .5" wide. Sure makes the wires fit easily, but my concern is whether the integrity of the stick is compromised.

I doubt it will hurt it. As I recall there are two bolts passing thru the grip/stick. The grip itself is VERY strong.
