A Vans Airforce G+ community, please give it a shot

Hi ya'll,

So for ya'll that use gmail (and G+), there is a new 'community feature'. I've created a VAF community which everyone is welcome to join. G+ groups are very lightweight (like facebook but without reselling your private info to every crummy facebook app maker). But because they are lightweight, it is a nice complement to Doug's forum here - potentially great for quick notes like "Hey, I'm trapped at KBFN can someone help out with an alternator." Also good for quick cellphone picts/videos.

I've checked with Doug and he's cool with this as long as it tries to only complement/not compete with the VAF here. If it ever becomes a problem, I'll either pass ownership of the group to Doug or shut it down

Google doesn't mine information, even your private google docs and google apps domain emails and use them for a variety of marketing and ad targeting purposes. Maybe not sell per se, but not far off either.

I just can't bring myself to start interacting with another social network site. This is a really good facebook group. BTW, you do NOT have to use any apps at all on facebook (I don't). http://www.facebook.com/groups/VansRVNation/
