Multiengine Instructor (MEI) Rating Passed!!
HI all, been a little bit since I have been on here. I have been busy pursuing my MEI. As of Wednesday, I have passed the checkride! A great feeling, considering that my 'ride was the DPE's semi-annual recert/evaluation checkride with the FAA, so I had a DPE on one side of me, and a FAA Inspector on the other. (Good times)
Well, now the MEI is out of the way, I am headed to the garage to tidy up and roll the wing jig back out, and continue skinning the wings on the -4.
Hope every one had a great Thanksgiving!
G

Where did you train for it? How long did it take?
I want to get ME ratings too, but for now keeping busy with building ...
Great job!

Congrats! I'm curious about the evaluation as well, how long the ground eval was etc. I was thinking about getting my equivalency ratings soon and am curious if its worth going to someone else instead of the FSDO. Thanks

MEI RIDE
Guys, thanks for the congrats. I really only worked on it this fall. I trained out of the Tulsa Riverside airport (KRVS). It took longer than it needed to, because I had a hard time aligning my schedule, my MEI buddy's schedule, and the constantly used aircraft's schedule... It was a tougher oral than it needed to me, (my own fault). I had a real tough time a couple times trying to spit out what I wanted to say. Once I made it to the airplane, it was a much more fun, practical, test. I really enjoyed the flight, and did well. All in all, a good day. If anyone wants more detail or anything, just PM me.
The Seminole is about the hardest airplane to land well, that I have flown. It is heavy on the yoke, and very pitch sensitive. Think roller coaster....
If I can help prepare anyone for their own multi stuff, let me know. I have tons of goodies, (info) for the Seminole.
Thanks again guys, glad to get this off my shoulders.
Gregg

Nice job Gregg. I flew the Seminole for my ATP way back when. Check rides are stressful enough without having the Feds on board. I had the same scenario when I was taking my type ride in the Metroliner, with the Fed observing our check airman while giving me my ride. Enjoy the instructing but be careful out there.
