Default Oil cooler valve

I'm installing the TCW oil cooler butterfly valve and it seems like failure of the arm part of the valve can lead to unexpected valve closure which would be problematic. To that end, has anybody attempted Safety wire, a cotter pin, or a tension pin to secure the arm to the rod? Not sure if this is easy to follow or not, but I'm trying to make sure the arm never releases its grip on the rod/valve.

Default Got it

I just drilled a 1/16" hole through the arm/rod and pushed in a tension rod. I feel better now
