Default Engine Brand Selection

This is a far off decision for me but I've been tinkering / window shopping at work due to boredom this week. I made the decision a while back, during my extended planning session, that I would be putting in a brand new engine. I'm REALLY surprised to see that I can get a an Lycoming XIO360 M1B w/ p-mags & the works.... And there is NOT really any savings with getting an equivalent Superior (built) or other lycosorus clones... Am I missing something here besides the gas option? Why would I go with anything other than a factory Lycoming? Especially, with recent business stability issues the other companies have had?
