Thanks for sharing. I just received mine in the mail and was wondering how I was going to make the rear one look good on the tail. I was looking for some sort of shroud to hold it down and provide some weather protection. Just bolting it in place would provide no protection against moisture. I'm assuming the gray goo in the last picture is proseal?

proseal, yes
proseal, yes. I like it. I'll snap a photo of it finished.
met my criteria.
1) reliable, 3 yr guarantee but no experience with ztron (maybe some risk here)
2) light weight, I'm convinced this is the lightest weight approach
3) streamlined, more streamlined than a purchased bezel
4) relatively easy to do
5) inexpensive
no need to cut an outer circular shape like I did. eliminate the risk of the circle cutter. just cut a 1.5 inch dia. hole in a square shaped piece then place the light on the rudder and trace the outer cut outline from the front side. I used 0.063 thickness alum.
note: I added some clear goop on the lens outer corner, all around, before placing alum cover for added shear strength.
note 2: the proseal will serve two purposes, 1) weather proofing and 2) dampens vortex shedding effects, vibration. (unknown benefit)
