Default finger filter

Good day ladies and gentlemen

One quick question. I'm not sure if anyone here has any experience with finger filters, the ones that come installed at the reservoir fuel inlet. Well, I've notice that the ones that aircraft spruce sells have a NPT female thread, however the aircraft manufacturer recommends removing it and inspecting it every once and a while.

Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't constantly screwing and unscrewing fittings with NPT thread not recommended, because you then lose the seal?

Anyone have any experience using these types of filters?

All the best

grubac

I'm not sure what you mean by "constantly" screwing and unscrewing NPT fittings. "Occasional" screwing and unscrewing NPT threads should not cause a problem.
Use of a non-hardening sealer such as Permatex is recommended.
