I'm interested in knowing if there is a reason not to use brass plugs. I used brass plugs in my engine with a light coating of tite-seal. Brass plugs are used extensively in the die casting trade where I make my living and are subjected to more heat than an engine. The only question I would have is in their use in aluminum as all my usages are in tool steel.

Brass and aluminum create a battery. Not a great idea for prevention of galvanic corrosion. See
Thanks for the info. I sure hope the tite-seal insulates the brass from the aluminum. I'll pull a couple out at the next condition inspection to make sure there is not a problem.
