Default Van's 60A alt?

Greetings,

The alt that came in my FWF kit is the 60A unit that Van's has been selling since about the first of the year. As I recall, this is a new alt, rather than the being rebuilt like the ones they had just before this. It is not the latest version with built in OV protection.

In addition to the B lead, there's one wire with a 5A switchable breaker that goes to this alt. Does anyone know if this unit can actually be turned on and off via this switch? I've had other alts that could do this. More commonly though, internally regulated alts just used this voltage to get started, but then would continue to make power even if this was removed.

Not much point in putting a switch, if it won't turn off

Rusty
