Air Compressor

What size air compressor would be considered minimum and what's recommended? I couldn't find it on their website on the required tools page.

The more volume, the less it will run while you're working. If you have the cash and the storage space get one of those tall IR floor mount models. Don't get an "oil free" compressor, (such as many of the craftsman models) they are xtremely loud. And certainly don't try to use a pancake compressor or any other carpentry type. You need volume (automotive) Get an oiled sump model with an electric motor, belt driven pump.

Similar units are available from different vendors such as Lowes, Tractor Supply, etc. The big tank and oiled compressor will easily handle any task in the course of building your plane. I bought the Home Depot version when I started painting my RV-6 and wish I had it for the entire project. It has since painted several automotive and aviation projects.

You can sometimes find a good used on on Craigslist. You'll save a few bucks and help out someone in your community.
