Default Case bolts?

Like at least a few other people, I replaced the hoist bracket with my lightspeed coils. (Aerosport O-320) Now I'm left with a bolt that's waaay too long for that spot, too long to get a socket onto it, and with the coils in the way I can't really get a box wrench on it either. (The bolt also passes through both halves of the crankcase.)

Any opinions on whether I should track down an authentic and shorter Lycoming bolt, or is there an acceptable replacement? The old bolt has no "grip" section -- it is threaded all the way through -- which makes me tempted to just find anything that will fit and be done with it.

1/4-20 is the bolt. On mine it is a thru bolt with a nut, just get one of the proper grip length, and torque it. I used grade 8 to be sure.

Paul,

Same as above, so this a useless "me-too" post. Go to your local Lyc Depot Store and find a 1/4-20 grade 8, proper length and torque it down.
