Default P-Mag Cotter Question

In the P-Mag installation instructions, mention is made of the using the "included" cotter pin to secure the nut which holds the drive gear in place.

The only cotter pin supplied with my P-Mag is the long skinny one that was used to retain the nut for shipping. That pin seems way too skinny to safety the hold-down nut. It rattles around in the hole and in the spaces in the castellated nut. Is it really the one they want you to use?

I had the same issue with my p-mag. I found a bigger cotter pin used for a slick mag and used that instead.

I'm not sure why they ship the small cotter pin but I'm guessing people do use it.

Chris.
