Default Tip: Modified thin dimple set

I was having a lot of trouble making dimples in the narrow ends for the elevator ribs. I had purchased a set of dies to use with a pop rivet puller but was having very poor results. Then I came up with this idea:

The dies are just held on to the jaws with double sided tape and the centering pin is a short end from one of the copper nails that came with the die set. The tape holds it in the top die quite well. I think that I will replace the copper nail with the butt end of a #40 drill bit, just to ensure that the nail does not mash down if not in the hole properly.

I ground the lower jaw so that it would fit between the rib fanges.

This works like a charm. The dimples are as good as using any other dimpler.
