Hose bending specs?
A DAR spoke at our EAA meeting last night and was talking about common things he finds during inspections. One thing he mentioned was hoses bent in a tighter radius than spec. That got me thinking about my fuel line that is fairly curved.
Where can I find specs on Van's fuel lines? I think they use Aeroquip 701 hose. I tried looking on the Aeroquip web site, but couldn't find technical specs.
Thanks,
Dave

I believe there are some bend radius specs in the Aircraft Spruce catalog, right next to the listings for Aeroquip hoses.
Yeah, that fuel line is a pain -- I'm still not happy with mine. Seems like you have to bend it an unnatural way in order to get the exhaust pipe into a reasonable location. And then you need to bend it a little bit more to get a clamp on it...?

Thanks Paul. I'll look in the catalog tonight. I use the ACS catalog almost more as a reference manual than for buying parts. They have all sorts of information and dimensions in there.

Found bending specs for Stratoflex hoses on this web site:

Click on the "Min Bend Radius" link on the left.
