Videos of my first flight of my RV-9A on 5/28/12
I finally posted my videos from my first flight. I know I always found it motivational to watch other RV videos. So, here are too many videos of my first flight:
First takeoff, ground cam: http://youtu.be/OqV-1S6SIlo
First takeoff, tail cam: http://youtu.be/0xxFhv8nDmE
First takeoff, dash cam: http://youtu.be/QNon2A-OfUo
First landing, ground cam: http://youtu.be/TcygCMgvLxA
First landing, tail cam: http://youtu.be/xS7v6ctjw2o
First landing, dash cam: http://youtu.be/KRr70ABUiBw
Yea, my dash vinyl is ugly but that will be a winter project.
The dash cam is a GoPro HD. The tail cam is a Drift HD mounted to the tail tie down.
Enjoy.

Kelly,
Great to see another 9a get in the air. I wish I was at that point! I would love to see more videos and pictures. As for the videos, I have an extra tripod I would be happy to send you for the ground shots!!
The in plane videos are great too. Thanks

Yea, I was going to bring a tripod but my friend who originally was supposed to run the camera didn't think he needed it. Then he ended up oversleeping and my other friend got the duties and you can see the results. He was having a really tough time seeing the LCD screen in the sun. Too bad they don't make many cameras with viewfinders anymore. Oh well. If it wasn't for the YouTube image stabilizer, it would have been REALLY hard to see.

Hey - you are flying a plane you built. The rest doesn't matter. Great job and many happy more flights for you.
I used to live in CA in Cameron Park and we went through SJ many times on the way to Pajaro Dunes near Wattsonville. I don't miss the heat of the Central valley in the summer. It got all the way to 64 today and is about 45 now for a nice cool evening.
Again, congratulations. What a dream come true. When you get a few hours under your belt, come on out to Colorado for a cooler summer!

Well I watched them all and I'm happy for you
I guess it's that picture you have on your posts - I hated it at first but I've come to pull for your success over time. Good job!
When are you going to tell us the real story behind the U-2, or the SR-71, or the F-117?

Kelly, I watched all your videos, too. Congratulations! I really like all the cams you had for the big day! I can't wait to get mine in the air. Perhaps you can fly up to Vans Homecoming later this summer? I'd love to meet you and see your plane up close!

Yeah well, maybe the tripod would not have helped that much. Diane had one set up but wound up walking in front and remaining in front of it while taking still photo's.
To us, it's actually kinda funny, but thats just us.
