Default Tow bar quick release pin

I never cared much for the mickey mouse pin on a chain that is on the Bogert tow bar that pins it in either the retracted or extended position. I used a quick release pin on my passenger side stick that I ordered from Mcmaster-Carr http://www.mcmaster.com/nav/enter.asp?partnum=92988A650 It came in a package of 5 so I installed 2 of them in my tow bar handle after drilling the holes to .25". I don't know what the shear strength is but I never use it for pulling, just steering. Makes it much easier to extend and retract especially at night.
