Default XM Weather/Music...does it go with the antena or the GPS?

Question.....Can you take your XM antena and use it on a different GPS? I have an account and want to move the weather from a 396 in one plane to a 796 in another.

The antenna is the reciever. That being said, I am not sure the antenna's are the same/compatible between the 396 and the 796.

Wx subscription goes with the antenna. I've used my 496 antenna with XM on another's 396. Also not sure about the 796. Best, Jim

True - in teh portables, the antenna IS the reciever, and the subscription goes with it. In teh G3X, the antenna is just an antenna - the reciever is built into the display unit. The antenna/reciever for the 396/496 is a GXM 30, and for the 696/796 a GXM40....they are different dimesnions, but I don't know if they are software compatable.
