Default Clearance between slider canopy and aft top skin

Hi,

how big is the clearance between the (pushed open) slider canopy and the aft top skin? Can I put GPS antenna in the area where the slider slides?

Thanks,

Thomas

Default That's Where I put mine on our RV-6A Slider

The canopies look the same and I assume the function is similar. The aft plastic sliding block follows the track down into the baggage area to position the aft skin against the fuselage without sliding against it on closing. When opening the slider that same block travels up before aft to lift the rear skirts well clear of the fuselage. That is where I mounted my GPS antenna and it clears by a good margin. It is maybe 4 inches aft of the canopy skirt and 4 inches or lest left of the canopy track.

This is the photo taken by Paul R. Searls at the Rockford, IL checkpoint in 2005 that I currently have in Photobucket shows it.
