Default Short Pigtail Ground Wire D-100

I'm wiring up the Dynon D-100 in my RV-9A panel using the wiring harness and there is a short black and white wire that was labeled "Pigtail ground for shielded braid". I know that the #19 pin wire from the GTX327 Transponder is supposed to connect with the #13 pin wire on the Dynon D-100, but what about the ground shield around the #13 pin wire? What does it connect to? Does it connect to that short Pigtail ground wire? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Smitty,
This sounds real familiar to me. Seems I've been through this. I think the short wire is for an encoder if you require one. Take a look at page 3-8 here: http://dynonavionics.com/downloads/I...tion_Guide.pdf

The description of the wiring harness on their website mentions the pigtail, but the written instructions do not. I downloaded the document and did a scan and it doesn't mention "pigtail" anywhere. Dang..

It is simply the ground wire for the shield. Ground it to your common ground point and all will be well.
