Default Trim Servo - Anyone Seen One of These?

Louise?s RV-6 (Kit #4, AKA ?Mikey?) has a very unique aileron trim system. While we have the plans from Van?s for an early ?in aileron? trim servo that was rumored to be adapted from a Mooney mod, this seems to be something entirely different. The mechanism seemed to be binding up on us, so I opened it up and found this. The good news is that with a squirt of lube on the gears, it seems to be working again ? I am just curious if anyone has seen one of these before! It actually is really compact and thin ? would be good for embedding in a rudder (I bet that?s what is in Mikey?s rudder?.)
