George Orndorff's book
George recently published an inspirational book about building. It is titled "Rock Piles to Pyramids, An Aircraft Builder Story" and chronicles our trials and triumphs of building and flying our first RV. Check it out at Amazon.com or AuthorHouse.com. We also have copies available through our website, fly-by.com.

Done.
Ordered one right away from Amazon!
Both you and George were inspirational to me when I built my first RV. The videos were priceless in the day when all we had was the Orndorffs, Sam Buchanan, and Matronics List.
Thanks again,

I'll order one today
I can't imagine anyone building an RV6A without using the Orndorff tapes. I imagine, with the newer plan sets and better instructions, they might not be as important, but for me anyway, they have provided much help---and inspiration, I might add.

Ordered mine
I could echo the previous postor your VHS tapes were priceless to Jeanine and I as we built our RV-6A and later your tape as we upholstered it. I ordered my book from Amazon a few minutes ago.

close to 9a?
I have never heard of the Ordnoff tapes. It sounds like they are well respected here. Being for the 6a, maybe they would be a help to me building a 9a? I know there are differences, but generally, there are many similarities. Anyone have an opinion on if they would help?

answered my own question
I just found their website. The link in the first post didn't work for me. I see they did videos for the 9. I will look into those.

The tapes were made as they built their second RV I believe and Becki did the camera work while George went through theactual building while explaning the techniques, the tools and a proven sequence of tasks to complete a specific complex job like the slider canopy and windshield/windscreen. Then the roles were reversed when Becki showed how to upholster. Using her techniques I was able to install upholsteryin places where it is not common with the look of a professional installation. I also bought their systems tape but I know that work pretty well so I kind of watched that one for entertainment value - it is enjoyable to watch someone work with purpose.
I am certain that much of the old RV-6 tapes would be informative for building a RV-9.

My Buddy George
Looking forward to getting a copy of Georges new book. I've never met George in person but I've spent hours and hours and hours with my Buddy George down in my workshop while building my 6A for the last 15 years. Sometimes he repeats himself over and over till I understand what he trying to say an he never complains. And He's always down there just waiting to give me advice and show the way. My wife will say sometimes after dinner, Ya going down to play with George? I just wish he'd lose that 70's hairdo and cloths he's always wearing and get into the 21st century. Great guy that George is. Anybody that has his tapes knows what I'm talking about.
