Default Float senders in tip tanks

Has anyone used the Vans float senders in Jon johanson style tip tanks. I really want to know if the fuel is transferring from the tips to the mains. Also is there any possibility that that the float senders might not like being in an empty tank for long periods of time eg. might they corrode or otherwise degrade if not submerged in fuel for lengthy periods....say months at a time.

Bob, having had this setup for a number of years, you really don't need to complicate it with senders. You will be able to tell if it is transferring by watching the main tank guages. In my case, since I plumbed them directly in to the main tanks, they showed FULL for approximately 2 hours as the tips fed into the mains. If you get movement on the guages prior to that, I would surmise they might not be feeding.
