It took awhile for the weather to decide to let the RV-1 leave Frederick, MD, but she finally got here...
...taxiing in...
...shutting down...
...for awhile, this was the best picture I could get of this little piece of aviation history...everyone wanted a piece of the action!
...but after awhile, the crowd began to drift away, so shot's like this were possible
...and this...
....and despite his protestations, I have definitive photographic evidence that Vlad, the Russian Spy, WAS in fact present (stealing vital secret technology no doubt, before heading back to "work")
Thanks to the guys and gals from EAA Chapter 1250 who made this event possible, and for letting riffraff like me inside their hallowed gates. So cool to see in real life so many of the planes I'd only seen in pictures here on VAF before today (including the awesome RV-3 painted like the plans for the airplane, as well as Vlad's 9A, Tony's (tkatc's) -7A, Dave Valcik's "80% done and 80% to go" -12...and so many others!)
