Default heat shielding the spark plug boots

Hi All,

i have l-shaped spark plug boots on the buttom that came with the p-mag. thing is that the rubber boots are very close to the exhaust (less than a inch). is it necessary to put some heat shields there?

thanks for your advises.

Hi Kay,
I just broke 150 hours on my RV-7A yesterday, and I have the P-mag autoplugs & wires. I've noticed that they're close to the exhaust, but they haven't shown any deformation or damage from the heat at all. You should be perfectly fine. I would ensure that the wires do not touch the exhaust, though.
