Default Adjusting valve clearance
Do we have hydraulic lifters on the Lycomings and Continentals or do we have to adjust valve clearance when doing annual inspections.

About the only engines that have solid lifters are the O-235 and O-290D. The rest all have hydraulic lifters. There is a dry lifter valve clearance established by pushrod length when assembled. Unless you have a valve hanging open or a knock, no action required.
