Turn fuel selector to off. Disconnect main fuel line at servo. Place bucket or provide means to catch fuel. Run boost bump until fuel quits coming out of the line (you will hear the change in the pump as it goes dry).
You can then remove the filter and at the most a drop or two might spill out. Use a rag under the fittings to catch any drips if there are any.

In the Marines I learned a cool trick when changing fluids on the different trucks.

Disposable Diapers

Cheap and get into places that buckets/jars/etc can not get to.

We changed the oil on a friends RV and wrapped the filter in a Diaper before unscrewing the filter. Not a drop. Also good when you change fluid lines.

Regards,

Scott
