Default Time to make the baffles

I think it's time to redo the baffles on my -4. I have the older asbestos and some newer silicone style mixed it.

What is the preferred system now?

3/32" smooth finish silicone?
1/8" smooth silicone with mesh stiffener?
1/8" textured silicone?

It seems like the textured tends to fray on the ends more than the smooth. Is this true or am I dreaming?

I REALLY like the idea of a plenum but I'm not sure how to marry my painted cowling to it. I think I can use a metal break and stretcher to produce a nice plenum... Decisions decisions...
