Default Leather Jacket Refurbishment

I have had this leather jacket that Jeanine bought for me from Sporty's a long time ago. I wore it every day when I flew to work and back home for 15 years. There were holes in the leather, the cuffs waist band and lining were worn out. I checked on the web for leather jacket refurbishment services and the price was around $450 and they want your credit card and jacket up front. It just seemed like a bad idea. A month ago I decided to just get it done locally so I Google leather jacket repair, Fayetteville, Arkansas. I got a couple of leads but they refered me to someone else. The last guy I showed the jacket to said we send all of or work like that to Ludy. I finally ended up at a little office complex place called Custom Tailoring and the lady named Ludy (479-521-9959). She had two custom patches I wanted made elsewhere but she replaced the lining, cuffs, waistband and zipper plus sewing on the patches for $268.35. I picked it up yesterday:

The point is if you have something like this there is somebody nearby that can do the job with face to face interaction at less cost and financial risk that the mail in mystery businesses.

That jacket just screams "I have some stories"

Beautiful piece of history you got there, Bob

I have an old one in the closet I just cannot bear to put in the trash, but is too trashy to wear usually. Never thought someone could fix it!

Default still fit the jacket

Bob, I am impressed that you can fit in a jacket that is 15 years old! It looks great now and you kept your money local. Good deal all around.

Amazing timing, Bob! I have a teenaged boy with autism who is absolutely attached to a leather Mickey Mouse coat I've had for twenty years. Except in the Summer, he wears it every day, even in the house if I let him. It's worn and weary in all the same places yours was--lining, cuffs, waistband. I just told him earlier this week that we were going to need to find a repair place for it. I'll look locally, but maybe sending it to Lucy this Summer might be just the trick!
