Question Painting powder coated brackets

Stating my 8 build and was wondering. The brackets like hs411, are powder coated but I want to eventually paint them the same color as the plane. What is the best way to go about this? Do I just scotch brite them for now to put a rough surface?

Welcome to VAF!

Definitely scuff them...I used something along the lines of 150 grit sandpaper though and then painted with SW JetFlex cockpit paint. I also plan to do my engine mount to match my exterior and I've been told you can powdercoat right over the top of that as well with a good scuff job.

Ok...thanks. I'll just scuff them up and then when the plane gets painted all will be good to go.
