Default Foam Filler

About 80 hours after I purchased my RV6 I have noticed that the foam used to fill the ends of the elevator caps is deteriorating. Since these openings face forward into the wind I am concerned about moisture getting in here and the resulting corrosion. Also, if enough of this foam disappears I would assume wind could damage the caps. What is recommended for filling this area. Would "Great Stuff" canned expanding foam work?
