Default Old Rhinebeck trip

I am planning a weekend trip to Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome (ORA) from GA. I was planning on flying into Kingston-Ulster (20N), but the hotels in Kingston are all booked up the weekend I am planning. How is Poughkeepsie? It doesn't appear to be too far from ORA. Would you fly into SkyAcres (44N) or Dutchess Co. (POU). POU appears to be more convenient to hotels. Any thoughts on the FBO's at POU... Richmor Aviation or Dutchess Aviation. I am not at all familiar with the area. I appreciate your help!

Default I am based at POU.

Jerry, fly into POU and stay at that Hampton on Rt 9 (south road) or the Hyde Park motel across from the FDR home or the super 8 up the street from that.

Short drive up Rt 9 to the aerodrome and easy to get a rental car.

Dutchess Aviation is run by the county and all the guys are great! Call them up and they will help you with a tie down.

Many things to do, CIA, FDR home! Vanderbuilt Mansion, Orgen Mills home, walking and eating in the town of Rhinebeck.

Have fun! It's a fun place to visit.

Default Which day?

Jerry,
Mastro answered you on hotels so I thought I would guide you on the show. The Saturday and Sunday shows at the Aerodrome are different. The Saturday (I believe) show features a "Parade of Flight" of all the old aircraft. The Sunday show features a rather "campy" WWI "battle" between Dudley Goodright and the Black Baron. The kids love it. Choose your show and spend the other day enjoying the many things the mid-Hidson bvalley has to offer, Mastro only touched on what is available.

John and Scott,
Thank you very much for your help. I am very much looking fwd to going there and seeing the show. I hope to bring a gaggle of 5 RVs with me. I called Dutchess Aviation and they hooked me up with a good rate at Hampton and with Enterprise. Sounds like there is quite a bit to do there. The plan right now is to get there mid-afternoon Friday, go to the show Saturday, do something Sunday morning and fly back to Georgia after lunch. I am planning the trip for the weekend after Father's Day. Thank you guys. I appreciate your help.
