Default Larger head diameter tank screw...

My tank is secured to the airframe with MS24693C countersunk screws. There are a few places where the builder got a little excited with countersinking the tank skin, and the head of the screw pulls through the skin.

In those cases I have installed a WA-8 countersunk washer. But I would rather find a better alternative, the washers are not attractive at all.

Is there a countersunk head 8-32 screw available that has a bit larger diameter head that would not pull through the skin?

Thanks,

Default Tinnermans

Chris,

A Tinnerman washer should work. Sounds a little scary though

Thanks for the suggestion, Tom. The WA-8 I mentioned is in fact the Tinnerman washer.

If I had a lathe I'd chuck them up and turn them down to just a tad over the diameter of the screw head. But I don't have a lathe, so I'm looking for another solution.

If anybody with a lathe is willing to do that for a fair price, let me know...
