G3X TFR presentation

Does anyone know why the DC SFRA depicts a RED circle around the 60nm range?

Seems like it should not do that as it is a FREE FLIGHT area and only a speed restriction zone.

Any thoughts?

For flights within the 60nm radius you also have to take the online course from the FAA...

I took it a while ago and remember the speed restrictions and flight plan, xpdr, etc...
But, I guess I'll have to retake it as I forgot the importance of the 30-60nm ring.

It would be nice if Garmin made the 60nm ring dashed line instead of solid.

The color of the TFR data on your screen is determined by the data that comes over the air from XM, who gets it from another provider, who gets it from another provider, who gets it from the FAA. Your display unit doesn't know how to do anything other than what it's told. So unfortunately it's not something that's easy to change, even though one might wish it to be otherwise!

Too bad "XM" can't reprogram.

I have to say, now that I am flying the airplane on long legs I'm enjoying the G3X and all the options.

Now we just have to get that ADS-B solution

The 60nm ring as mentioned is the boundary where you are required to have taken the SFRA course. It is depicted on the TAC and Sectional.
