Default XM Radio Options

I'd rather not install a GPS device with built in XM Radio just to get XM Radio (Garmin like GPS devices). So I'm looking for options to allow me to get XM Radio in the plane for a lower price. Has anyone used some of the automotive style receivers? If so, any pictures? Either panel mount or arm mount ideas would be good.

Default Roady 2

I've been using an older Delphi Roady 2 for years with great success. It is portable, uses a glareshield mounted 1/2 golf-ball sized antenna which I have velcroed for easy removal. Plugs right into my STEREO IN jack. Excellent reception. I would look at the latest XM portables. Subscription is around $10 per month if you have more than one XM radio.

Default Do you have an Iphone

I bought the skydock from XM which enables your phone to be used as a satillite radio reciever. Could be an option.

I have the same setup as Pat. If you let your subscription lapse, you may get offers to resubscribe for around $5 a month. So I would not recommend getting a multi-year subscription at the start.
