Except for the backing plates, Van's catalogue carries the same type of hardware in aluminum.

They are easy to find on sites that cater to off road racing (another money-pit activity of mine); also, Ancra (anyone who's ever strapped a motorcycle to a trailer has problem heard of them) has an aero division with a mind-boggling selection: http://www.ancra.com/aircraft/interior.html When I see some of those devices, I want to have them, just to put on my desk and admire.
