Default Tie-down anchor plates

Check out the stainless steel anchor plates for the tie-down rings sold on this site.

These look like a good idea, for those still building.

Except for the backing plates, Van's catalogue carries the same type of hardware in aluminum.

They are easy to find on sites that cater to off road racing (another money-pit activity of mine); also, Ancra (anyone who's ever strapped a motorcycle to a trailer has problem heard of them) has an aero division with a mind-boggling selection: http://www.ancra.com/aircraft/interior.html When I see some of those devices, I want to have them, just to put on my desk and admire. But I'm a hardware junkie
