Default You gotta love the media

Here is a verbatim quote from a newspaper in Somerset PA after a Lancair IVP crash:

"The FAA expertise lies in the overall air worthlessness of the aircraft and the pilot's history, Rayner said."

Whole story here:

Just thought it was funny (the sentence, not the crash)

Default bad writing and bad editing.

this is a tragic story, compounded by tragic writing:

"The pilot attempted to turn the plane back when it went into the ground, witnesses said."

I would imagine an alert pilot would try that maneuver BEFORE encountering an obstructed air space!

Speaking as Captain Daniel E. Root, CAP - USAF Auxiliary (retired): The last half of the story is about the CAP's fine work securing the area; but people died here. Have some respect and write one story about the accident. If you want to, write a second story about how CAP contributed.

(and you're gonna say, "but hey, c'mon Root, it's a small town paper, whaddya want?", and I'll nod my head and agree with you...)
