Default Bionic man takes flight

Three years ago today was my first flight in the RV-9A. Since that time, among other things:
the airplane has flown 437 hours;
one engine failure with emergency landing (no damage to airframe but significant damage to my wallet for the rebuild);
changeover from trigear to tailwheel and installation of the big tire option;
flights to lots of interesting places, from Texas to Yukon;
we've met some of the best folks in the world and made many new friends;
and we back in the air today for the first time in almost 5 weeks after hip replacement surgery (thus the bionic man in the title).

Building and flying the RV has been one of the best things to happen to us (Julia included) ever. Those of you still building, carry on!

Cheers,
greg

Ouch! Glad to hear your "airframe" was repairable, Greg. I used to read about "old guys" having surgery and pity them, until it started happening to me, at which point I decided there just has to be a better criteria to define an "old guy." So, anticipating the inevitable for me, did you get your bionic hip from Avery or Cleaveland? (Or even better, did you fab it yourself?)

Get well; be well!
