Default Is my ACS keyswitch bad?

I started up my -7A normally on a 40 degree F day, taxiied about 500 yards after a 1 minute warmup and then my O-360 just quit on its own.

When I tried to restart, I could rotate the keyswitch, but not push it it to start. Nothing. Then I removed the keyswitch from the panel and jiggled the connectors. I then tried and it restarted normally and both my left mageneto and right Lightspeed checked normal.

The plane has a little over 700 hrs. over 6 years with about 500 cycles (or starts). What is the lifespan of these switches? Is is just "cheap "insurance to replace it so I don't get stranded while on the road?

Thanks,

Mike

Default Keyswitch

I read in another thread that there is a Service Bulletin on the ACS key switch and that there is a kit to rebuild it for your very reason. Can't find the thread though.

Check this link to ACS:
