Thumbs up Panoramas and 3D 'Stitches'

This thread created (and made a sticky) to highlight the panoramic RV-related photos....

iPhone app called 'Photosynth'. Free. Test shot in the plane yesterday at lunch - had six minutes to kill until the next waypoint. Click on the picture and use your mouse to pan around (hold down left button, move mouse).

Full screen, movable version HERE.

Very clever.

Wonder where your left canopy side rail went?

Default hangar 360

Today's a work day in the hangar/shop so the RV is "resting" ...

Click for the really big version.

Back during hurricane Irene, the equipment was moved to the back and we had the RV-8 and a pair of Cherokees nestled in with room for a high wing if it had been needed. Now it's back into it's usual configuration. The paint booth is down at the far end near the overhead door.

Edit: Photosynth is very easy. However, I do a lot of panoramas and finally settled on AutoStitch for the iPhone. It seems to deliver better stitching. The above is actually 46 frames (21 for the bottom and 25 for the top). Photosynth has that cool motion app capability which I miss.

Default Thank you Doug!

Just received a new lens for the Nikon today, but since downloading Photosynth the new lens has taken a back seat. This app is just way to cool and WAY to easy! This is going to be a fun thread with some really cool shots. Thank you... Thank you... back now to having fun with Photosynth.

For those thinking that having your own private runway is wonderful ... well ... you're right. But it's a lot of work too. Still, even when it's not used for take offs or landings, it makes for pretty special walks at sunset. (It's a sight reserved for the overnight guests since 53VG has no night opps.)
