Question Garmin430-Pioneer interface

Aircraft: RV7A almost finished. Location: South Africa. The direct connection between the speaker outputs of my Pioneer radio/CD to the 430 seems to "trip" the Pioneer on switch on. Does anyone have a simple circuit that will solve it? I have tried 2 x 100 Ohm resistors in the return line - no joy. Local AMO recommended 2 x 1K Ohm resistors? I did not have the time to try yet.
