UMA slick T1A9-2 tach transducer install question

Anyone install the UMA slick T1A9-2 tach transducer in one of the mags. Just want to make sure I am wiring it correctly:

It is a three-wire shielded:

1. White/purple and shield to ground.
2. White wire to EMS 37-pin #32 Standard RPM Input Left (white/green wire)
3. White/orange to 12v

My question is: does the power wire (white/orange) go directly to 12 volt battery buss, or should it go to the main buss (fuse block) with a fuse, and if so, which size fuse?
