Zaon XRX, Differences Gray to Black?

I would like to add a Zaon XRX to my aircraft to replace the current traffic scope unit. Is there a substantial difference in performance between the older models in the gray case and the new black onyx units? Does the older traffic scope have any real value should I decide to sell it?
