Pella Tulip Festival

The wife and I hopped in our little travel machine this weekend and headed to Pella, Iowa for the 71st Annual Tulip Time Festival. We departed very early Saturday morning when we couldn't make it up Friday night due to weather. Spent the day at the festival and headed back home Sunday morning. This is a great event and I would put it high on the list of places to attend next year. The airport had a pancake breakfast (pilots ate free). They had a record year with about 90 airplanes coming in throughout the day.

It is a nice event and is practically in my backyard. We didn't make it this year as there were some family activities that had been planned. I would recommend it also.
