Default Vans OEM price for Lycoming

Van's Website suggests that he sells the O-320 D1A at a substantial discount to the Lycoming price but they appear to be within a few dollars of each other.
Lycoming website: $23,373
Van's website: $23,850
Is the OEM discount offered after you order the engine?

Thanks

Never mind.
I see the lycoming prices are for reman zero time, not new.

Yup.
It really makes Mattituck, Aerosport Power, ECI, Superior etc look really attractive, relatively speaking.

New Lycoming engines from Van's do not include a core charge. You pay what Van's charges and that is it. I bought one (0-360 A1A).

Thats what I was getting at Roberta, Lycomings website's price would add on a $9000 core charge, vs. Van's who would not. That is the substantual savings Van's is talking about.
