Question EGT, faulty gage or probe

I have 50 hours on brand new engine everything works perfect except...

Once in a while EGT gage (Vans on hottest cylinder) starts acting, going all the way to max, fluctuates randomly from zero to hero, then just stays somewhere in 1100 degrees for minutes. Happened at least three times in stable cruise, lean or rich, no throttle change. Once in turbulence. Wandering what could it be? Tapping RV wisdom pool

Vlad,

I had the same thing happen to a Dynon probe. Replaced it and it's all better now. Currently one of my CHT's is acting up. I am thinking about getting JPI probes next time.

Found the cause of erratic movement. Thermocouple extension connector (very rigid wire) was not inserted all the way but looked good. Need tools to squeeze it to the end. Thanks Jeff. Case closed.
