Default Retrofit floating fuel senders to RV-6

All,

I would appreciate any references (construction logs, photos, discussions etc) to builders that may have installed floating senders to a RV6 'after the fact'.

The intent is to compliment that the fuel totalizer (fed off the fuel flow transducer) already installed in the aircraft.

Regards,
Leonard

Default Hi Leonard.

On our -6A, I noticed that the floats top out before the tanks are full. In my -10, the floats reach their high when there's 22 gallons in each tank, with 8 more to go..to 30 per side. Since the floats are inboard, the dihedral causes this but it's no problem. The fuel amount (on the fuel gauges) won't decrease until I've used at least 8 gallons from a tank but the totalizer tells me the remaining fuel.

My Dynon fuel totalizer senses additional fuel and prompts me to tell it how much was added. There is a "Full" selection or an amount, if I didn't fill them up.

Best,
