Question Extending mag P-leads

I plan on redoing my panel, which will consist of moving the mag switch. I will need longer wires than I have now. The mag P-leads are shielded wire.

Can I simply splice on an additional length, or do I need to purchase new shielded wire that has enough length? If new wire, is there anything special I need to know to connect it to the mag?

Thanks,

The wires on an RV are so short many times I find it easier to just run a new one. Splices would be acceptable, but it is not the "preferred" method.

I was an early adopter of the P-mags and "back in the day" the manual mentioned nothing about running shielded wires.

I'm not giving advice here but I'm just say'n.

(I do agree with Walt, running new wires shouldn't be a big deal.)
