I have one of Van's glove boxes installed in my panel. I don't like the wing type fasteners provided with the kit. I would like a small (approx 1") round knob fitted into the door that operates a latch by turning the knob. Would prefer a knob with a key lock in the center.

Does anyone know of a source for such a latch?

Sounds like you want a desk drawer lock. Check at the several box office supply stores (Staples, Office Max, Office Depot, etc.).
